This page has been designed to provide all the information that you as parents / carers as well as the the children will require in their transition from Year 2 to Year 3 at Crofton Junior School.
Unfortunately, due to the on-going restrictions in regards to the COVID-19 pandemic, transition this year is very different. We haven't been able to organise visits for the children, a parents/carers meeting or go across to their infant school to meet the children in class as we usually would. We have however, had numerous virtual meetings with infant school staff including their teacher, Headteacher and Mrs Chinn to discuss:
The organisation of classes for Year 3. Children will stay in their allocated class throughout the whole of their time at Crofton Juniors.
The children's attainment and progress.
The curriculum including key skills which need to be revisited.
Provision for children with additional needs.
As a result, we feel that we have a good understanding of all the children who will be joining us on Wednesday 9th September and are looking forward to helping them develop in all aspects of their education.
Before your child starts with us on 9th September, please can all parents/carers:
Contact or call into the school office to be informed of your child's new class and relevant information as well as collect the induction pack if you haven't done so already.
Register on our Parentpay system.
Purchase your child's school uniform including PE kit.
Return the student update form to the school office.
Please see below a link which provides additional information regarding the members of staff in each of the Year 3 classes. There are also welcome videos, which will help you and your child(ren) to become familiar with the staff prior to September.
